Getting back to home base

I’m one of those organizers who works best when everything has a place. But how does that work when your house is under construction? Nothing has a place right now… when life during renovation starts to feel chaotic I like to take a few days and reset my surroundings. Getting back to home base can be important for your sanity.

Someone thought it was a good idea to take all of the closets out in the first phase of the renovation but not put any of them back until the last phase…I don’t know who that could have been…but she is the worst…

I’ve recently started another part of construction that involved taking out the linen closet, which was in-fact the last closet in the house.

That officially put me over my clutter breaking point. I can’t handle the disastrous state my house is in but I feel like I have little choice over the matter for now. I’ve finally reached the point where I can’t function anymore and something needs to be done. The rest of the week is going to be dedicated to putting my house in some sort of order before continuing with any more construction.

On the surface it seems simple enough to clean your house but when you have nowhere to put things you have to get really creative with your use of space. Maybe I’ll make a how-to post about it… stay tuned.
